Project Intern
We are looking for one individual to work with CESD for fall 2008. Applicants must be able to commit to at least 10 - 12 weeks of full-time work between September - December. Exact dates are flexible.
CESD is seeking an individual to primarily help with planning the upcoming Travelers’ Philanthropy Conference to be held in Arusha, Tanzania on December 3 – 5, 2008 and working on our Costa Rica Coastal Tourism research project. In addition to the two primary projects, the individual will work on smaller ongoing tasks. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic individual looking to utilize creative skills and gain experience working for a non-profit in the responsible tourism sector.
Intern Responsibilities:
- Assist in promotion of the Travelers’ Philanthropy Conference
- Operational tasks related to the conference
- Gather and analyze research related to Coastal Tourism in Costa Rica
- Assist in various administrative tasks
Skills/Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, and works well with others
- Creative, flexible, and organized
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
Requirements
Previous academic and/or field experience with responsible/ecotourism is recommended, but definitely not required! This internship is open to graduate students and advanced undergraduates only. Recent graduates are also welcome. Individuals will be responsible for arranging their own housing in Washington, DC.
