November 10, 2008:

CESD announces a book signing for Martha Honey's newly released edition of Ecotourism and Sustainable Development: Who Owns Paradise?. Signing will take place 12:30pm to 1:45pm on November 20th, at the CESD office in Washington DC. Click here for full details.

CESD and CAB International announce publication of volume 7 of the CAB Ecotourism Series: Ecotourism and Conservation in the Americas by CESD Co-Director, Dr. William Durham, in collaboration with Dr. Amanda Stronza. Click here to learn more.


August 6, 2008:

CESD and Island Press proudly announce publication of the new edition of Ecotourism and Sustainable Development: Who Owns Paradise? by CESD Co-Director, Dr. Martha Honey. Click here for the Press Release, or click here for details from the publisher.

Please note: Due to a publishing error, on the back cover of some copies of the Second Edition, Dr. Honey is erroneously listed as the "Executive Director" of the Center on Ecotourism and Sustainable Development (CESD). Since the founding of CESD, Dr. Honey has been one Co-Director and Professor William H. Durham of Stanford University has been the other Co-Director of the Center. The publisher and Dr. Honey regret the error.

Dr. Wangari Maathai, Nobel Peace Prize winner and founder of Kenya’s Green Belt Movement, has graciously agreed to give the keynote address at the 2008 Travelers’ Philanthropy Conference to be held in Arusha, Tanzania, December 3-5, 2008.
